The 21-year-old World Cup wonder who spoke on his first press conference as a Real Madrid player spoke of his admiration of the Portuguese manager and how he influenced him to join the Spanish giants.<\/h2>\nMesut \u00d6zil who shot to world fame during Germany\u2019s World Cup campaign in South Africa this summer said through a translator \u201cI spoke to my advisers and looked at the options but I always wanted to join the best team in the world, and to play under the best coach in the world, Jose Mourinho,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI spoke to him and he convinced me. What we spoke about will remain between him and me but that\u2019s why I am here.\u201d<\/p>\n
It is widely speculated that the young prominent German international of Turkish decent was paid a measly \u20ac18 million, to finalize the deal with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.<\/p>\n
The bargain price for the influential German midfielder was mainly due to \u00d6zil having only a year left on his contract and that at the end of the year he would have been able to leave his former club on a free transfer.<\/p>\n
So Bremen opted to capitalize from their most expensive asset rather than letting him go free.<\/p>\n
Mourinho also spoke of the cheap price paid for the playmaker, saying \u201cWe got him for a price which was far under his real market worth. We could not miss out on Ozil.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u00d6zil is said to have signed a six year deal with the Spanish giants worth \u20ac30 million which will be just under \u20ac100,000 a week excluding bonuses.<\/p>\n
With sponsor deals also looming, it is expected for the young \u00d6zil to earn himself a huge sum.<\/p>\n
\u00d6zil\u2019s success though some may believe was due to the World Cup, is actually the birth of a star in the international stage, but the potential of the player was seen by many in Germany and people who watch the Bundesliga.<\/p>\n
Mesut \u00d6zil not only played a huge part in Germany\u2019s U21 triumph but also played a huge part for Werder Bremen throughout the years and was a star in the making who finally shined during the World Cup.<\/p>\n
With the likes of Mourinho and the talent and determination of \u00d6zil, the young star is certainly in the right address and is certain to rise.<\/p>\n
