{"id":8697,"date":"2010-10-06T12:19:34","date_gmt":"2010-10-06T09:19:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=8697"},"modified":"2010-10-06T12:19:34","modified_gmt":"2010-10-06T09:19:34","slug":"french-police-arrest-12-people-suspected-of-terrorism-in-south-france-6537365","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/french-police-arrest-12-people-suspected-of-terrorism-in-south-france-6537365\/","title":{"rendered":"French police arrest 12 people suspected of terrorism in South France"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anti-terrorism Police in Southern France have reportedly arrested 12 suspects and seized guns and ammunition.<\/h1>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-8698\" title=\"polieste_body_armour\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/polieste_body_armour-280x203.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"280\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/polieste_body_armour-280x203.jpg 280w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/polieste_body_armour-496x360.jpg 496w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/polieste_body_armour.jpg 502w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 280px) 100vw, 280px\" \/>The 12 who were mainly arrested around and in the cities of Marseille and Avignon are allegedly linked with Muslim extremist groups according to French media.<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least nine of the arrested are also linked with firearms and explosives trafficking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The group are suspected of being part of a larger organization and reports have also said that heavy firearms were also amongst the seized weapons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">French police have also said that not all the arrested were linked to the same terrorism charges and some were arrested under different charges including arms trafficking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At least three of the arrested are suspected of being a cell of a larger organization who sends extremists to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border to get military training.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is suspected that some of these training camps prepare the attendees as suicide bombers where as others go through different forms of training.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last week French police were also on guard and patrolling tube and train stations after warnings of a terror attack as a response for France banning the Burkha or full face veil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However the recent arrests have not been linked to last week\u2019s threat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The arrests in France came amid warning from the US government to it&#8217;s\u00a0citizens\u00a0to take caution while in Europe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Write your comments and thoughts below.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
