E\u011fer bir asteroid \u015fu an d\u00fcnyayla \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma rotas\u0131nda olsayd\u0131, yapabilece\u011fimiz hi\u00e7bir \u015fey olmazd\u0131. En az\u0131ndan NASA\u2019da e\u011fitmen ve u\u00e7u\u015f kontrol\u00f6r\u00fc olan Robert Frost\u2019un d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesi bu y\u00f6nde. <\/p>\n<p>Frost\u2019un bir \u2018soru ve cevap\u2019 sayfas\u0131nda yazd\u0131klar\u0131na g\u00f6re, \u015fu an veya yak\u0131n gelecekte elimizden hi\u00e7bir \u015fey gelmiyor. B\u00f6yle bir olay\u0131n ya\u015fanmamas\u0131 i\u00e7in yap\u0131lan planlar hen\u00fcz tahmin ve varsay\u0131m s\u00fcre\u00e7leri i\u00e7inde. Frost\u2019a g\u00f6re, bir asteroid \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6nlemenin iki \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fc var. Birincisi, bahsi ge\u00e7en g\u00f6k ta\u015f\u0131n\u0131 yok etmek. \u0130kincisi ise g\u00f6k ta\u015f\u0131n\u0131 rotas\u0131ndan sapt\u0131rmak.<br \/>\nFrost yaz\u0131s\u0131na \u015fu s\u00f6zlerle devam etti:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;66 milyon y\u0131l \u00f6nce dinozorlar\u0131 yok etti\u011fi tahmin edilen Chicxulub adl\u0131 asteroidin \u00e7ap\u0131n\u0131n 5 km ile 19 km aras\u0131nda oldu\u011fu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcl\u00fcyor. B\u00f6yle devasa bir nesneyi yok etmek muazzam boyutlarda enerji gerektirir. B\u00f6yle b\u00fcy\u00fck bir nesneyi yok edemeyece\u011fimiz gibi ayn\u0131 zamanda d\u00fcnyadan o kadar uzaktaki bir asteroidi rotas\u0131ndan sapt\u0131racak bir darbe indirmeye yetecek imkan\u0131m\u0131z yok. Tercih etti\u011fimiz \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm y\u00f6r\u00fcngesini de\u011fi\u015ftirip d\u00fcnyay\u0131 \u0131skalamas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flamak. Uzaklarda uygulad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bir sapma; bize ula\u015fana dek b\u00fcy\u00fck bir sapmaya d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015febilir. NASA, halihaz\u0131rda ge\u00e7en sene OSIRIS-Rex isimli uzay arac\u0131n\u0131n ula\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 Asteroid Bennu isimli 500 metre uzunluktaki g\u00f6kta\u015f\u0131n\u0131 inceleyip bilgi topluyor.<br \/>\nNASA, bir \u015fehri yok edebilecek b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fckte olan bu g\u00f6kta\u015f\u0131n\u0131n 120 y\u0131l i\u00e7inde \u00e7arpabilece\u011finden korkuyor. D\u00fcnyaya yak\u0131n bir sonraki ge\u00e7i\u015fi ise 2135 y\u0131l\u0131nda.  <\/p>\n<p>Bu g\u00f6rev, asteroidleri d\u00fcnyayla olan \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma rotalar\u0131ndan sapt\u0131rmaya y\u00f6nelik kritik bilgiler sa\u011flayacak.
