Seth Enslow made a record jump of 175 feet (53.34 meters) and then broke the same record on the same day by going 183.7 feet (56 meters) with his Harley-Davidson XR1200 after more press arrived.
Bubba Blackwell had held the record for the past 11 years when he jumped 157 feet (47.85 meters) in Las Vegas in 1999. (See Harley Davidson Record Jump Video Bellow)
“This is awesome! I’m stoked!” Enslow said after entering the record books.
Enslow was however in considerable pain after the second jump as he had landed heavily and his crouch area hit the front of the bike, but members of his stunt team said he was fine.
“We’ve worked hard at creating history and we’re all glad he landed it safely,” Harley-Davidson spokesman Adrian O’Donoughue said.
The legend, Evel Knievel had set the first world record of such in 1975 which had stood for 24 years before Blackwell finally broke the record.
