It all started well as the young men said “hi Congressman, how are you” in which Etheridge replied “thank you”.

However, after Etheridge was close to the camera, the young man who later introduces himself as a “college student, on a project” asked if he “fully approves the Obama agenda?”

Etheridge, then is seen asking “who are you? Who are you?” several times before forcing the phone in the young man’s hand towards the ground.

From the reactions of the “college students” they were very surprised by the actions of Etheridge who has been a congressman in the North Carolina state since 1997.

The angel of the video is then taken to the video recording of the other young man presumed to be a friend who witnessed the incident.

Etheridge is then seen snatching the phone in which the young man was filming the congressman from the young man in which he carried on asking “who are you?” in which the young man said that he was there “for a project”.

The congressman is then seen grabbing the young man who claims to be a “college student, on a project“ by the neck and pulls the young man to his side.

The video which was edited and uploaded on a website owned by Andrew Breitbart, a conservative Web entrepreneur, was then uploaded on other popular video sharing websites including Youtube where it has been viewed millions of times.

In the apology Etheridge made it wrote “I deeply and profoundly regret my reaction an I apologize to all involved,” … “No matter how intrusive and partisan our politics can become, this does not justify a poor response.”

In a news conference on Monday Etheridge also said “No matter how partisan and no matter how difficult things get sometimes, that’s no excuse for my response, I know better.”

Etheridge continued “I’ve been spat at, pushed on and threatened before, and that’s no excuse for the actions, for my not walking on by, just no excuse”.

The video which was uploaded on the Internet in an edit version with text writing “What happens when a US congressman meets a college kid on a street in Washington?” and “He goes BERSERK!” just before Etheridge takes the cell phone off the young man.

Write your comments and thoughts bellow. Do you think Etheridge overreacted or were the so called students out of order for shoving a camera in the face of the congressman and asking such questions?
