A road side bomb which exploded while a bus with Turkish military passengers was passing has killed at least four people and injured 12 in the early morning hours of Tuesday.
The civilian bus which was carrying the Turkish military passengers was targeted close to a military housing complex in the Halkalı district of Istanbul, Turkey.
Initial reports from officials confirm that at least three Turkish soldiers and the daughter of an army officer were killed in the attack.
12 others were also injured one being in critical condition.
The identities of the dead soldiers have also been released. Turkish Gendarmerie Sergeants Çağlar Bölük, Uğur Ekir, Gendarmerie senior sergeants Bekir Çelik and Buse Sarıyağ the 17-year-old daughter of an army officer.
Istanbul governor, Hüseyin Avni Mutlu who spoke to the media after the attack said that the bomb was exploded via a remote control.
Security officers have started an investigation to find the perpetrators of the attack.
No organization has of yet took responsibility of the attack but it is widely thought to be the PKK terrorist organization that was behind the attack.
Tuesday’s attack was the last of many insurgent attacks by the PKK terrorist group who have increased since March.
