Turkish PM to visit Pakistan this month

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to visit Pakistan by the end of this month.

Islamabad, Dec 6/Nationalturk – In order to increase economic and political friendship between the two countries, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is likely to visit Pakistan in the last week of this month.

“Turkish PM will be heading a business delegation of country to Pakistan. He will sign number of bilateral agreements with Pakistan during his visit to the country,” official sources said.

They said Erdogan will be visiting Pakistan from December 23 on the invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif.  He will stay in Pakistan for two days and meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon Hussain and other Pakistani leaders.

Turkey is one of close friend of Pakistan

Turkey alongwith Saudi Arabia is viewed one of the closest friends of Pakistan in the region and has bailed the country out during tough times in the past.

After being elected Prime Minister in May general election, Nawaz Sharif visited Turkey in September this year and held wide range of deliberations with Turkish leaders.

During the visit he had invited Turkish PM Erdogan to visit country.

Turkish PM may be awarded Pakistan’s highest civil award

According to Pakistan newspaper, The News, there is likelihood that Turkish PM may be awarded Pakistan’s highest civil award in recognition of his “meritorious services” for strengthening the friendship and ties between the two countries.

The newspaper said Turkish ambassador to Pakistan Sadik Babur Girgin is engaged in finalizing the tour schedule with close collaboration of the protocol officials of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.
