20550 Ukrainians Arrived in Turkey

İsmail Çataklı, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Spokesperson of the Ministry, announced that 20,550 Ukrainian citizens have entered Turkey from all our border gates since February 24.

İsmail Çataklı has published a written statement on the migration movement caused by the conflicts in Ukraine. Çataklı said:

– Since February 24, 20 thousand 550 Ukrainian citizens have entered our country through all our border gates. Within the scope of the valid visa exemption agreement between our country and Ukraine, citizens of Ukraine can enter our country with a passport or ID and stay in our country legally with a visa exemption for up to 90 days. For the citizens of Ukraine who entered our country legally but could not leave before the conflict period, the Governorships were instructed to provide the necessary convenience in their residence permit applications.

With the start of migration mobility from Ukraine, AFAD humanitarian aid team consisting of 11 people was sent to Romania Siret Border Point (Ukraine-Romania border) on 25.02.2022 in order to determine humanitarian needs, carry out humanitarian aid activities and coordinate the aid sent from our country. On February 26-27, 2022, 5 trucks of humanitarian aid were set off from our country and delivered on the border of Ukraine on March 01-02, 2022.

– 5 trucks carrying humanitarian aid materials provided by the Private Sector and Non-Governmental Non-Governmental Organizations under the coordination of AFAD set off from our country on March 5, 2022. At the Romanian border, our AFAD teams provide hot meals and treats to 10 thousand people daily with 2 mobile kitchens and standards.
