Report: Liverpool reject first Bayern offer for Mané

FC Bayern is very interested in Sadio Mané from FC Liverpool, and the Senegalese does not seem averse to a move to Munich – but the club of successful coach Jürgen Klopp has now reacted clearly to FCB’s request.

According to a media report, Champions League finalist FC Liverpool has rejected an initial offer from FC Bayern Munich for star striker Sadio Mané. As the newspaper “The Times” reported on Sunday, the German record champion is said to have offered 25 million pounds for the outside attacker. This corresponds to around 29 million euros. The amount for the 30-year-old Senegalese should be made up of around 24.5 million euros plus additional performance-related payments. According to the report, the Reds considered the offer to be severely undervalued.

Mané’s move to Munich has been speculated for weeks. The African is being traded as a potential successor to Serge Gnabry, whose future in Munich remains uncertain. Mané could also replace goalgetter Robert Lewandowski, who is willing to change.

Mané himself had previously dampened the rumors about his departure from England. “I wanted to make it clear that I’m still under contract with Liverpool and I have a lot of respect for the club. As I said before – now it’s time to wait and see,” said the winger after the 3-1 draw with Senegal’s national team in a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations against Benin. Mané’s contract with the Reds runs until the summer of 2023.

Mané had previously fueled rumors about leaving the team of German coach Jürgen Klopp himself. Like everyone else, he is also on social media and can see the comments of his followers and fans. “I guess 60 to 70 percent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool. I’ll do what they want,” Mané said.
