Netanyahu on Iran deal: “We will protect our vital interests”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel will safeguard its security in any potential agreement between the United States and Iran, stressing that operations in the region are ongoing.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made striking remarks regarding a possible agreement between the United States and Iran amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. In a video message following a phone call with US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu underscored Israel’s firm stance and emphasized that national security will remain a top priority in any deal.

Reference to Trump call

Netanyahu stated that he had spoken with President Trump, noting that the US leader believes recent military gains could open the door to achieving war objectives through a diplomatic agreement.

Netanyahu: “Operations are ongoing”

Netanyahu stressed that Israel continues its military operations against Iran and Lebanon, saying efforts to dismantle missile and nuclear capabilities are being carried out systematically.

Hezbollah targeted

He also highlighted ongoing strikes against Hezbollah, stating that the group has suffered significant blows as part of Israel’s broader military campaign.

In his statement, Netanyahu said: “President Trump believes there is an opportunity to achieve the war’s objectives through an agreement, building on the major successes of the Israeli and US militaries — an agreement that will secure our vital interests. During this process, we continue our attacks against both Iran and Lebanon. We are systematically destroying missile and nuclear programs and continue to deal heavy blows to Hezbollah. Just a few days ago, we neutralized two more nuclear scientists. In any agreement, we will protect our vital interests.”
