Amber Heard crying: Describes alleged violence by Johnny Depp

She called him “Johnny” and addressed the jury in her statement. Amber Heard testified in a Virginia court on Wednesday and described violence she allegedly witnessed at the hands of Johnny Depp.

In court in Virginia on Wednesday, Amber Heard described how she fell in love with Johnny Depp and how the relationship changed abruptly when he took drugs.

Amber Heard on the witness stand

Questioned by her attorney Elaine Bredehoft, the Aquaman actress recalled being personally selected by Depp after an audition for his film The Rum Diary. At the time, they were both still taken, but things apparently crackled during the shoot in Puerto Rico. When they met again about a year and a half later on the promotional tour for the film, they kissed for the first time off-camera. Heard was single at the time, Depp also separated from Vanessa Paradis. Amber Heard described to the court jury how Depp wooed her, flew her to exotic locations, gave her gifts and also wowed her family with gifts.

She fell in love quickly and intensely, she said. She still remembers the first time that Johnny Depp was said to have been violent towards her. “I will never forget it. It changed my life,” Heard said. The trigger is said to have been Depp’s upper arm tattoo.

Johnny Depp’s first suspected violent outburst

After his breakup with Winona Ryder, the actor changed it from “Winona Forever” to “Wino Forever.” “I was sitting on the couch and having a normal conversation. He was drinking. I think he was on cocaine because there was a jar – a jar – of cocaine on the table. There was music playing, he was smoking cigarettes and I asked him about it the tattoo on his arm,” she said. She couldn’t see it and asked him what was on his arm. “He said there’s Wino standing there and I thought he was joking and laughing. He slapped me and I laughed. I laughed because I didn’t know what else to do. I thought it must be a joke . Because I didn’t know what was going on,” Heard explained. He slapped her three times in a row.

After a few minutes, Depp burst into tears and apologized. “He seemed so sorry but I couldn’t forgive him because that means it’s going to happen again. I got up, walked to my car and didn’t say a word,” she recalled.

Drugs often trigger

In their years together, drugs were often the trigger for Depp’s violent escapades, Amber Heard reported. In addition, he was enormously jealous, she said, recalling a group vacation with friends at a trailer park. There, the couple consumed drugs with their friends, Heard himself said that she ate mushrooms. When a friend put her head on Heard’s shoulder, Depp is said to have freaked out and twisted the friend’s wrist. Back in her trailer, the situation escalated.

Depp was looking for his cocaine, Heard claimed, and allegedly accused her of hiding it. “He started feeling me, he ripped my dress. He grabs my breasts, he touches my thighs, he rips my underwear off, and then he does a strip search. He said he was looking for his cocaine, his coke,” she said. “He just stuck his fingers inside me. I just stood there staring at the stupid light, I didn’t know what to do. He twisted his fingers around. I didn’t stop him or anything,” she sobbed. During the course of their relationship, Depp was repeatedly violent, hit, pushed and threatened her, Heard said during the survey.

After being questioned by Bredehoft, cross-examination with Johnny Depp’s lawyers is pending. Amber Heard called her ex-husband “Johnny” while he had consistently said “Miss Heard” for the past few weeks.
