Bayern should be interested in Leipzig star Laimer

FC Bayern Munich wants to get new support in several positions for the coming season. Allegedly, the Munich team should have an old acquaintance of the coach on their list.

Julian Nagelsmann switched from RB Leipzig to the record champions last summer – and took two players from Leipzig to FCB in Marcel Sabitzer and Dayot Upamecano. Now the Bayern coach allegedly wants to lure another ex-player to Munich. As the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano writes on Twitter, Bayern are said to be interested in middle player Konrad Laimer – and are preparing an initial offer.

According to Romano, Munich would probably offer 18 to 20 million for the midfielder, who still has a contract with the Saxons until June 2023.

Mintzlaff probably doesn’t want to let any players move towards Bayern

But: According to “Bild”, Leipzig’s managing director Oliver Mintzlaff does not want to give a player to FC Bayern and therefore prefers to risk letting him go on a free transfer next summer. In the ARD he said last: “There are no requests, and they would also bounce off us. Our goal when we talk about the coming season is that we keep the team together.”

Laimer came to RB Leipzig from Salzburg in 2017, the transfer fee at the time was seven million euros. Since then, the Austrian-born has made 158 appearances for the club and scored 11 goals.
