Because of Prince Andrew: Duchess Kate and Prince William want to move

Changes are expected for Prince William and Duchess Kate: the royal couple have decided to move to Windsor. The reason for this should be both the Queen and Prince Andrew.

Earlier this month, Queen Elizabeth II reportedly decided to make Windsor Castle her permanent home and principal residence.

Her grandson Prince William lives with his wife Duchess Kate and their three children at their country estate Anmer Hall in Norfolk. The family of five moved there in 2014 after initially making Kensington Palace in central London their private and professional home.

They want to keep an eye on Prince Andrew

Now the center of the Cambridges should shift again. According to the Daily Mail, the couple plan to go to Windsor. The move is scheduled to take place this summer. With that they would like to be “closer to the Queen”.

According to “The Sun”, Prince Andrew, William’s uncle, should also be a reason. The fallen royal, who is up to his neck in an abuse scandal, was allowed to accompany the Queen to the memorial service for her late husband Prince Philip a few days ago. This circumstance is said to have been a thorn in the side of other members of the British royal family. Some would fear that the 62-year-old could “use his closeness to his mother as a stepping stone to get back into public life”.

Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson and his wife are said to be touring private homes after excluding royal properties like Prince Andrew’s Royal Lodge and Fort Belvedere, the former home of King Edward VIII. The couple are said to be considering Frogmore Cottage, which is in the grounds of Windsor Castle, and Adelaide Cottage, which is in the heart of Home Park in Windsor and is currently occupied, the British outlet further reports.

Parents have also looked at schools. These include teaching establishments in Buckinghamshire, Windsor and Surrey and Lambrook School at Ascot.

Prince William and then-Kate Middleton were married on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. They now have three children: Prince George was born in London on July 22, 2013, Princess Charlotte on May 2, 2015 and Prince Louis on April 23, 2018. The two older children are already in school.
