Beşiktaş’s transfer gourmet (!) signed Rosenborg

John Vik, one of the names that ruined Beşiktaş!

John Vik, who left his position at Beşiktaş last November, has become the new Head Scout and Transfer Manager at Rosenborg.

Vik, who has worked as a scout and head scout for Manchester United and Molde, became Beşiktaş‘s Scout for Nordic Countries and North America last January.

Known in his country as the man who discovered Erling Haaland, who currently plays for Manchester City, Vik was heavily criticized for the amounts paid to Elan Ricardo and Keny Arroyo, whom he recommended to Beşiktaş, and for their lack of effectiveness.

The fact that Vik, despite being the Head of Nordic Countries, couldn’t find a single player from Norway, Denmark, and Sweden (!) has drawn attention to him.

Within the club, voices rose against Vik, questioning, “How can the man who discovered Erling Haaland not find a single player from Norway?” Then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also received his share of criticism.

Furthermore, it was alleged that the Norwegian football executive had a power struggle with Eduard Graf, who was considered the most authoritative figure in transfers at Black Eagle.
