A Sony Playstation console has been used by explosives experts at Boston’s Logan International Airport. Parts of the airport had to be evacuated.

A Sony games console paralyzed parts of Boston’s Logan International Airport on Easter Sunday, reports the US newspaper “The Hill”. According to police, airport security found a suspicious item in the baggage of a Delta Airlines passenger, which worried inspectors, they said.

As a result, parts of the airport were evacuated and a bomb disposal squad was called in. The specialists identified the suspicious item as a PlayStation console that was in “poor condition” due to damage and age, it said. It is not known which Playstation model it was.

Airplanes are also said to have been evacuated

A video by a Twitter user shows how many passengers had to leave the affected area of the airport. According to The Hill, even planes that had already been dispatched were evacuated.

A woman told a local TV station that people ran “screaming” out of the airport building. A little later, the affected terminal was closed by the police and the passengers had to wait in front of the building.

Meanwhile, the passenger’s luggage and the affected terminal were searched for explosives. About an hour after the emergency services were called in, the all-clear was given and normal airport operations resumed.
