Is Egypt still a safe touristic country ? a British couple was kidnapped Bedouin tribesmen in Egypt.

Reports say the pair were released soon afterwards following negotiations with security officials.

The two were said to be taken in the Sinai Peninsula as they made their way by car from Cairo to the popular Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are trying to clarify the situation at this stage.”

Security in the isolated desert region of the Sinai Peninsula has deteriorated since Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in the uprising in 2011.
