Chávez’s daughter rallies in Caracas: “Venezuela is sovereign, hope remains alive”
Rosinés Chávez called for respect for Venezuela’s independence and demanded the immediate release of President Nicolas Maduro and Cilia Flores during a mass rally in Caracas.

Addressing a large crowd in Caracas, Rosinés Chávez urged the world to respect Venezuela’s sovereignty and independence. The daughter of late leader Hugo Chávez called for the immediate release of Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were seized by U.S. forces and taken to New York.
Call for respect for Venezuela
Speaking to supporters, Chávez said Venezuelans are demanding respect for their country’s independence and sovereignty. She insisted that Maduro and Cilia Flores must be returned, stressing that Venezuela would not submit to foreign pressure.
“This people will not surrender”
Chávez highlighted the courage and dignity of the Venezuelan people, describing it as a legacy inherited from the nation’s liberators. She warned that those who believe Venezuela can be easily subdued are making a serious miscalculation.
Peace and justice message
Emphasizing peace, Chávez said Venezuela seeks to live without violence and injustice. She noted that this message has long been voiced by Hugo Chávez and continues to be upheld by President Maduro.
“Hope is in the streets”
Chávez stressed that the demonstration was not merely about defending individuals, but about defending the homeland, its legacy, and its future. Calling on people not to lose hope, she said hope lives in the streets and in the unity of the people.
“Venezuela is free”
Addressing all Venezuelans—regardless of political affiliation—Chávez urged citizens to defend their country. She declared that Venezuela is sovereign and free, and vowed that the nation would prevail.
Military operation and seizure
On Saturday, the United States launched a large-scale military operation on Venezuelan territory, affecting Caracas as well as the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira. The operation ended with the seizure of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were taken out of the country.
