A picture in which six Danish tourists can be seen urinating in full public view on Shanghai highway has outraged China with people demanding action against the ill-behaved tourists.

Beijing, March 26/Nationalturk – There has been an outrage in China over a picture in which six Danish tourists can be seen urinating in full public view on Shanghai highway.

A woman, who was passing through Shanghai Express, on Saturday saw six Danish tourists urinating in the middle of a busy overpass in North-South Elevated Road , Shanghai in full public view. Being eyewitness of the incident, she clicked the image and uploaded it on Sina Weibo, China’s twitter-like microblogging platform.

In the photo, six foreign men lining up in the middle of an overpass road, next to a coach, are seen urinating in full public view.

According to Chinese media, Chinese police officers reviewed surveillance video and tracked the bus through number plate. “The bus driver told police the passengers were Danish tourists, who had just completed a tour of Shanghai’s Formular One Circuit. The driver told police that while he was driving along the overpass, he was forced to stop by the tourists. He alleged that they (tourists) even tried to grab the steering wheel and could have caused a traffic accident,” media reports quoted driver of the bus as saying.

He told police that Danish tourists had been drinking a lot of beer.

Police said they would continue investigating and might take action against the men for urinating in full public view.

People demand action against ill-behaved tourists

The news about Danish tourists publicly urinating on Shanghai Highway has outraged China and sparked discussion online. The picture has gone went viral on Sina Weibo, China’s equivalent of Twitter. Many netizens condemned the behavior were outraged and said the men should be punished.

There have called that visa of the six Danish tourists should be cancelled and appealed police to take a tougher line with badly-behaved visitors.

It was not immediately known if the men had been identified or what punishment they might face. The driver could be punished for parking on the elevated road.
