Japanese eating champion, Takeru Kobayashi was arrested on Sunday during a hot dog eating contest on Coney Island.

The six-time world champ, Japanese Takeru Kobayashi was arrested on Sunday and released after the eating sensation was arrested by New York police during an annual eating competition.

Kobayashi will face charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, trespassing and obstruction of governmental administration.
According to witnesses Kobayashi who did not attend the competition due to a contract issue, had attended the annual hot dog eating competition as a spectator.

After some fans had seen him the crowd shouted chants for the Japanese eating champion to go up on the stage which Kobayashi did for his fans.

Kobayashi was then pulled down the platform by police and arrested.

Kobayashi had not entered the competition because he did not agree to the terms and conditions by the Major League Eating, the governing body of all stomach-centric sports.
