Felipe Melo crisis emerged at Galatasaray, as the on-loan midfielder from Juventus bashed his teammate Albert Riera up and Galatasaray boss has now second guesses about the fate of Melo at Galatasaray Istanbul.

Istanbul / NationalTurk – Galatasaray boss Fatih Terim has declared that Felipe Melo and Albert Riera have been omitted from the upcoming matchday squad prior to their last regular season game on Sunday and will be fined in due course, following their brutal altercation at the club’s training ground in Istanbul.

The Istanbul giants stated on Thursday that an brutal incident had occurred between Melo and Riera and had vowed to discipline the duo accordingly. Now, in a statement released by the former Turkey manager, whose career is revived this years performance by Galatasaray the two players will not be concluded in weekend’s squad which will face Manisspor. Felipe Melo and Albert Riera will also be facing financial sanctions.

‘To prevent any further misinformation from being reported by media, Melo punched Riera and as a result, Riera’s eyebrow split open. That is all,’ stated Fatih Terim trying to play the obscene altercation down.

The reason behind the altercation is yet to be disclosed but Galatasaray did release the following statement, “This morning Albert Riera and Felipe Melo were involved in a dispute which resulted in Manager Fatih Terim sending them off the training ground. The dispute between the players continued in the changing rooms. The two players will be dealt with internally by the club.”

Felipe Melo, whose nickname is ‘pitbull’ is claimed to have attacked Riera after the duo were sent to changing rooms and have locked the room to the changing room and have bashed Riera severly up. Reports are filtering through from the Gala camp that Melo and Riera started swinging for each other after the former went in overly hard on the latter during a practice game. Fatih Terim, an experienced coach is accused of sending the obviously tangled up pair to changing rooms at the same time. ‘ He should have sent one to the changing room, while letting the other train apart from the team ‘ one Turkish trainer told NationalTurk news. ‘ That’s what a proffesional coach should have done ‘

The fight comes at the most wrong time of the season for Galatasaray who face Manisaspor on Sunday and then must prepare for the Turkish Super League playoff’s.

‘ In order to stop the speculation, I’ll clarify the situation. Both players will be fined. Galatasaray has a code of conduct and there has been a physical altercation, so they will not be taken to our next match against Manisaspor. ‘ a disgruntled Terim added speaking to the reporters.

‘ Whether or not they’ll carry on with us for our title bid, we’ll make a decision soon. I could have come out with both players and tried to make peace between them, but there’s no point in handshakes or attempting to cover up the incident.’says the old hand manager Fatih Terim.

Felipe Melo is currently on loan from Juventus, can Galatasaray afford to transfer him ?

Fatih Terim also hinted that the incident may have swayed Galatasaray’s decision to keep Felipe Melo on a permanent basis. The Brazilian is currently on a season-long loan from Juventus and had been one of the side’s star performers this season.

Speculations state that Galatasaray cannot afford the transfer fee of Felipe Melo Juventus will ask at the end of season. Melo is one the most popular players by Galatasaray fans and the club board is trying to decrease the popularity of the Brasilian player.
