Grammys will not perform with Kanye West

Kanye West has five chances of winning one of the awards at this year’s Grammys. Among other things, his work »Donda« has been nominated for the coveted »Album of the Year« award. And the rapper was actually expected to appear on the show on April 3rd. But nothing will come of it.

Several US media had recently reported that the responsible Recording Academy had informed the musician of a corresponding decision. Now a representative of the musician, who has been calling himself Ye for some time, has confirmed the reports. However, she did not reveal any further details. The academy itself has not commented on the events either.

However, the media reports are unequivocal in the justification for the waiver. This has to do with West’s “disturbing behavior on the Internet”.

West had recently repeatedly left out about his estranged wife Kim Kardashian on Instagram. Kardashian and West married in 2014 and have four children together. In February 2021, Kardashian filed for divorce due to “irreconcilable differences.” In the lengthy process, she submitted another application in December that her single status be restored as soon as possible.
