Ian Thorpe has to be treated for a serious infection. The former Australian swimming star had she suffered after a shoulder surgery, reports “ABC Australia”, citing Thorpe’s manager James Erskine. Accordingly, the 31-year-old underwent surgery at a hospital in Sydney.
Erskine denied a report by the transmitter 7News , after which Thorpe was being treated in the ICU . 7News had also reported , Thorpe threatened to lose control of his left arm due to infection – the fear according to the report , at least people who are close to the float . Thorpe had been found in early February in a suburb of Sydney in foggy condition in a foreign vehicle . He was under the influence of antidepressants and painkillers. In 2011 he made his comeback. His attempt to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, but failed significantly. Participation at the World Swimming Championships 2014 in Glasgow he had to cancel because of the shoulder injury.
