War Enters Day Three: Iranian Drone Targets Saudi Oil Facility
As fighting sparked by the US and Israeli strikes on Iran enters its third day, the conflict is widening across the region. Iran announced that it had targeted the Ras Tanura refinery owned by Saudi Arabia’s state oil company, Saudi Aramco, with a drone.

Tensions continue to escalate following the US–Israel operation against Iran. After the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as the country’s Defence Minister and Chief of Staff, the conflict has intensified.
US President Donald Trump said Iran’s new leaders want to speak with him, while Tehran signaled a regional escalation by announcing a strike on a key Saudi oil facility.
Ras Tanura refinery targeted
An Iranian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) reportedly targeted the Ras Tanura refinery facility belonging to Saudi Arabia’s state oil company, Saudi Aramco.
No detailed assessment of the damage has been released, but security measures in the area were reportedly tightened following the incident.
Ras Tanura is one of Saudi Arabia’s most critical oil refining and export hubs. The reported strike signals that the confrontation may no longer be confined to the Iran–Israel axis and could further expand across the Gulf.
Conflict spreading across the region
As the war enters its third day, Iran’s counter-moves appear to be extending beyond direct clashes with Israel. The targeting of energy infrastructure raises concerns about broader regional instability and potential disruptions to global oil markets.
While US and Israeli operations inside Iran continue, Tehran’s response suggests the conflict could evolve into a wider regional confrontation.
