Modi Pledges Firm Support for Israel
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Israel’s parliament that India stands firmly with Israel now and in the future, highlighting economic cooperation and emerging regional alliances during his two-day official visit.

During a two-day official visit to Israel, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a strong message of support at the Knesset, declaring that India remains steadfast alongside Israel. Concluding his address with the words “Long live the people of Israel,” Modi emphasized that the partnership between the two nations will continue to deepen.
Modi : “We Share Your Pain”
Modi said India shares Israel’s suffering and reaffirmed New Delhi’s commitment to stand by Tel Aviv. “India stands with Israel with full conviction, now and in the future,” he stated. He also voiced support for the Abraham Accords, arguing that regional cooperation is essential for peace and stability.
Focus on IMEC and Economic Cooperation
Highlighting strategic connectivity projects, Modi referred to the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC). He said the initiative aims to link India to the Mediterranean and Europe via the Arabian Peninsula and Israel’s Haifa Port through a combination of sea and land routes.
Modi underlined India’s ambition to become one of the world’s top three economies in the near future and pointed to Israel’s technological leadership as a cornerstone of bilateral cooperation.
Netanyahu Thanks Modi
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Modi for his consistent support. Members of the Knesset gave the Indian leader a standing ovation following his remarks.
Opposition Protest
Modi’s speech was preceded by a protest from Israeli opposition lawmakers, who left the chamber in objection to the government’s decision not to invite Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit to the special session. According to Israeli media, former members of parliament were invited to fill the empty seats to avoid the appearance of a diplomatic embarrassment.
Special Knesset Medal Awarded
As part of the visit, the Knesset awarded Modi a newly created “Knesset Medal,” reportedly presented for the first time. Israeli media described the medal as a symbol of gratitude for contributions to Israel and the Jewish people.
Modi is also expected to attend an innovation summit during his stay. Discussions are anticipated to include proposals for a new regional alliance framework involving India, certain Arab and African countries, Greece, the Greek Cypriot administration, and several Asian nations.
