Amid continued border tension between arch rivals India and Pakistan, militant group in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned to open front against India if it does not stop cross-LoC firing into Pakistani territory.

Islamabad, Aug 15/Nationalturk- The dreaded militant group of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned to open front against India if it does not stop cross-LoC firing into Pakistani territory.

“We will open a front against India if its army does not stop unprovoked attacks on Pakistani territory in Pakistan controlled Kashmir,” senior member of TTP’s Political Commission Ehsanullah Ehsan was quoted as saying by Pakistan’s newspaper Express Tribune.

Ehsan was sacked as TTP spokesman by the militant outfit’s leadership in June and is now working as the member of the group’s political commission.

He told Pakistan newspaper that if Indian army does not stop firing along the LoC in Pakistan controlled Kashmir, we will also target Indians and will defend Pakistani borders”.

‘We won’t allow Pakistan’s enemy to attack our homeland’

Asked about the logic of defending Pakistani forces, whom they are fighting, Ehsan said, “We are fighting the Pakistani government for the sake of Islam. However, it does not mean that we will allow the enemies of the country to attack our homeland.”

The border tension between India and Pakistan has increased after killing of five Indian soldiers allegedly by Pakistan Army in a cross-LoC attack in Poonch sector of Indian Kashmir on August 6. Pakistan has denied the Indian charge and said there was no such incident on the day.

Referring to peace talks with Pakistan government,  Ehsanullah Ehsan said, TTP is ready for dialogue with the new government but will also be ready for a full scale war if an operation was launched against them.

“We had offered dialogue for “peace and Islam” and it is now up to the PML-N government to come up with clear options. If the government wants dialogue, we are ready to talk and if they want to go for war, they will find us ready for this option too,” he added.
