Playstation Plus launches first in Asia

At the end of May in Asia, in June 2022 also in Europe: Sony has published the start dates for the new Playstation Plus game subscription.
Computer gamers in Asia (excluding Japan) are expected to be able to subscribe to Playstation Plus from May 23, 2022. Japan is to follow a week later, on June 1st. According to current plans, the service is scheduled to start on June 13 in the USA and on June 22, 2022 in Europe.
That’s what Sony writes in the Playstation Blog, specifically with the note “targeted” – in other words: the possibility of changing the dates is still open. It is not known why the new subscriptions do not start at the same time worldwide.
The server load should probably be better distributed during the first attack. The Playstation Network has been struggling with capacity problems for years. In Europe, for example, downloads in the evening usually take much longer than during the day.
The new Playstation Plus offers three memberships. The cheapest tariff called Essential costs around 9 euros, with access to two games and multiplayer it corresponds to the PS Plus, which has been known for a long time.
The new Extra tariff costs around 14 euros per month. In addition to Essential, there is a catalog of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. Sony promises “blockbusters from the Playstation Studios catalog”.
Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal will be offered at launch. Sony hasn’t announced any other titles yet. The games can be downloaded.
Playstation Plus Premium with time-limited demos
The most expensive tariff called Playstation Plus Premium costs from around 17 euros per month. It includes access to up to 340 additional catalog titles.
This also includes older titles from the first three Playstation generations and even from the handheld PSP, which can also be used on a Windows PC via cloud gaming. The previous game streaming offer Playstation Now is merged into Playstation Plus Premium.
In addition, Premium includes time-limited demo versions so that selected games can be tried out before purchase.
