Princess Amalia is not following in her father’s footsteps
With this, Amalia breaks with a family tradition: Both her father, King Willem-Alexander (55), and her grandmother Beatrix (84) studied in Leiden in the Netherlands. Amalia wants to share a flat with other students, the court said.

The king’s eldest daughter graduated from high school in The Hague last year and then took a year-long sabbatical. Before being admitted to the course at the University of Amsterdam, the princess had gone through a selection process, according to the court.
