The Italian international striker Mario Balotelli has after months of wrangling acknowledged paternity for a little girl. “Finally, the truth … Pia … My sweet child! Your daddy,” wrote the 23-year-old on Twitter.
The football player had previously refused to acknowledge paternity for more than a year old child of his ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico. The couple had delivered a high-profile dispute because of the acknowledgment of paternity.
Balotelli had said he wanted to wait until after the result of a DNA test. This was performed according to reports Italian newspapers last week – with a clear result.
Known for his escapades striker of AC Milan had first raised detail on the dispute over his paternity few weeks ago. “I’ve always said, if it is determined that the child is my daughter, I will fulfill all my duties towards her,” he had said. Now he has the chance.
