Ricky Martin broke his silence after being accused of domestic violence

Ricky Martin finally broke his silence after being denounced for domestic violence in Puerto Rico.

This Sunday, the justice notified the singer about a restraining order against him, which comes from a previously filed complaint.

“The protection order filed against me is based on totally false allegations, so I will face the process with the responsibility that characterizes me,” said the statement that he spread through his social networks. “Because it is an ongoing legal matter, I cannot make particular expressions,” he added. “I appreciate the innumerable shows of solidarity and I receive them with all my heart,” he concluded.

This message comes a day after Martin’s legal team came out to deny the versions circulating in the media, assuring that the allegations of domestic violence against the artist are “completely false”. In a brief note released by Perfect Partners, the singer’s public relations firm in Puerto Rico, they stated: “We are sure that when the true facts come to light in this matter, our client Ricky Martin will be fully vindicated.”

According to El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper, the order states that Martin and the other party “had a relationship for seven months. They separated two months ago, but the petitioner does not accept the separation. He calls him frequently.” The newspaper added that Martin has been seen “loitering around his residence on at least three occasions.” And the order states: “The petitioner fears for his safety.”

“At the moment, the police have not been able to find him,” police spokesman Axel Valencia said Sunday, saying he would not provide further details because the warrant was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law. Rich. It is unknown who requested the restraining order.

This isn’t the only legal mess Martin is facing these days. Last week it became known that his former manager, Rebecca Druker, filed a case against him in Los Angeles, California, for non-payment of fees. According to her representative, the artist currently owes her about 3 million dollars, which is why she appeared before the Los Angeles Central District Court and made a judicial request to initiate proceedings against the singer.

Ricky Martin is married to Jwan Yosef, an artist of Syrian origin, with whom he has been in a relationship since 2016 and with whom he has formed a large family together with his four children: the twins Valentino and Matteo, born in 2008, through surrogacy; Lucia, who came into the world in December 2018, and Renn, the youngest who was born in October 2019.

Ricky and Jwan married in an intimate wedding at the end of 2017. In January of the following year, the couple announced that they had signed all the necessary documents to formalize the relationship and the party was pending. “We did it because we saw that our parents were with us. We looked at each other and said: ‘We do it now, we’re going to look for the judge’, and that’s how my wedding was,” said the interpreter of “La mordidita” on the Mexican TV program Ventaneando. The singer humorously clarified that the big celebration has not happened because they cannot agree on the magnitude of the event.
