Noting that a corridor has been opened every day since March 21 for the evacuation of civilians and foreigners from Mariupol, Shoigu stated that they evacuated 142,711 people from the city.

Noting that the situation in the city is calm and that the operation against the Ukrainian forces in Azovstal will be completed in 3 or 4 days, Shoigu said, “Today, Mariupol is completely under the control of the Russian army and the police of the (so-called) Donetsk People’s Republic.” said.

Putin’s order to “cancel the raid on the factory”

Russian President Putin, on the other hand, said that the military operation to be carried out on the industrial zone was not appropriate and ordered the cancellation of the raid.

Emphasizing that Russian soldiers have to think about their health and life, Putin said, “There is no need to go underground and catacombs in this industrial zone. But close this industrial area so that not even a fly can fly.” he said.
