Russian military offensive: Biden condemns ‘unwarranted attack’

US President Joe Biden condemned the military offensive announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The USA and European countries are announcing the consequences.

US President Joe Biden has sharply condemned the Russian military attack on Ukraine and threatened the government in Moscow with consequences. The US President spoke on Thursday night of an “unprovoked and unjustified attack” on Ukraine.

President Putin has chosen a premeditated war that will result in catastrophic loss of life and human suffering.

“Russia alone is responsible for the death and destruction this attack will result in, and the United States and its allies and partners will act with unity and determination,” Biden said.

He has already spoken to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and informed him about further measures planned by the USA and Western allies against Russia, including “tough sanctions”.
