Skytrax World Airport Awords 2022: The 11 Best Airports in the World

Every year since 1999, the British consulting company Skytrax has chosen the best airports in the world as part of the “World Airport Awards”.

This is based on a survey of passenger satisfaction. In 2022, Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, will once again take first place.

For the ranking of the best airports in the world 2022, more than 500 airports were examined and evaluated according to various criteria – including: cleanliness of the washrooms and toilets, accessibility and friendliness of the on-site staff. The ranking is based on a survey of airport visitors in the period from September 2021 to May 2022.

According to the current Skytrax ranking, the best airport in the world is Hamad International Airport in Doha in Qatar for the second time in a row. For several years, Doha Airport, base of Qatar Airways, has been steadily increasing in ranking, which is mainly due to the numerous investments made by the Qatari government. As in 2021, Tokyo Haneda Airport and Singapore Changi Airport took second and third place in this year’s ranking.

While Munich Airport was the best airport in Europe in recent years, it slipped to seventh place in this year’s ranking. On the other hand, Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport was able to work its way up from 15th place to sixth place, making it the new best airport in Europe.
