Spanish Cup (Copa Del Rey ) holders Seville who beat Barcelona last season in the competition to eventually win the cup, has yet again proved to be a nemesis

to Barcelona beating the Catalan’s 3-1 in the first leg of the Super Cup (winners of the La Liga vs winner of Spanish Cup).

Seville came from a goal down after Zlatan Ibrahimovic whose future is disputed at Barcelona put the Catalan’s ahead in the 21st minute.

However Seville held their composure and managed to equalize through Luis Fabiano’s 63rd minute strike.

Seville’s breakthrough came on the 73rd minute after Frederic Kanoute who came on as a substitute put his side ahead against the Spanish giants.

Ten minutes later on the 83rd minute, Frederic Kanoute scored his second and Seville’s third goal.

It is fair to say that Barcelona were not with their full strength side as all eight of the clubs Spanish International did not take part in the Super Cup and Messi was drafted in on the second half to replace Ibrahimovic.

The second leg of the game will be played on the 21st of August at the Nou Camp where Barcelona will be hoping to clash with Seville with a much stronger side with the likes of a fit Lionel Messi, Iniesta and new superstar transfer Villa.
