Tender offer to government: Timing of Chelsea sale set

Roman Abramovich is currently the owner of Chelsea FC. But that could change soon. As the English newspaper “The Times” reports, the club is said to want to submit the offer of a new bidder to the government by April 18.

The Raine Group, i.e. the US commercial bank that is responsible for the sale of Chelsea FC, informed the shortlisted consortia of this.

Offers must be received by April 11th

The final offers from the club bidders must be received by April 11th. The newspaper also writes that the Raine Group has informed the four remaining bidder groups that their aim is to finalize the deal by the end of April. Each of the four parties can decide for themselves whether the offers will be increased or remain the same.

The only requirement: At least one billion pounds (the equivalent of around 1.2 billion euros) must be made available for future investments. Otherwise the sale is not possible.

According to Sky Sport News, the Ricketts family (owners of MLB’s Chicago Cubs), Todd Boehly (co-owner of MLB’s LA Dodgers), Sir Martin Broughton (former chairman of British Airways and Liverpool FC). ) and Atalanta co-owner Stephen Pagliuca to the interested parties.

Abramovich recently complained of symptoms of poisoning

According to current estimates, Chelsea FC is said to be worth at least two billion pounds (equivalent to around 2.4 billion euros).
