Pakistan Thursday said one of its soldier was killed in Indian army firing along Line of Control (LoC), defacto border between India and Pakistan in Indian administered Kashmir.

Islamabad, Jan 10/Nationalturk -The tension between two nuclear armed South Asian neighbours India and Pakistan escalated further with Pakistan stating that one of its soldier was killed in Indian firing on Thursday along Line of Control, defacto border between India and Pakistan in Indian administered Kashmir.

“A soldier was killed in unprovoked Indian fire while manning a post in Battal sector of Kashmir today,” Pakistan army spokesman said in a text message.

He said Pakistan Army soldier, Havaldar Mohyuddin, embraced shahadat (martyrdom) due to unprovoked firing by Indian troops at Hotspring sector in Battal at 2:40 pm today.

He identified the Pakistani post that war targeted by Indian soldiers as “Kundi”.

Today’s incident comes two days after the Indian army said two of its army men were killed by Pakistani soldiers after crossing the ceasfire line in Poonch sector in Kashmir. India alleged that two of its army men were killed by Pakistani soldiers on Tuesday (January 8) including one who was beheaded. Pakistan denied the accusation.

On Sunday (January 6), the Pakistani army had said Indian forces killed one of its soldiers and wounded another in Uri sector of Line of Control (LoC).

A ceasefire has been in place between Indian and Pakistani army along Line of Control in Indian administered Kashmir since 2003. The ceasefire has been holding despite some aberrations from both sides.
