Trump slams NATO allies: “We don’t need anyone’s help”

US President Donald Trump said NATO allies were unwilling to join military operations against Iran. In a sharply worded statement, he stressed that the United States can act alone.

US President Donald Trump delivered striking remarks targeting NATO allies over their stance on military operations against Iran. Stating that allied countries did not want to participate, Trump criticized their position while underlining the military strength of the United States and its ability to operate without external support.

“Allies refused to participate”

In a post on his social media account, Trump said NATO countries had informed them they did not want to be involved in operations in the Middle East:

“This situation occurred despite the fact that nearly every country strongly agrees with our actions and the reality that Iran must not be allowed to possess nuclear weapons in any way”

Trump: “NATO is a one-way street”

Trump said he was not surprised by the allies’ stance and criticized NATO with the following words:

“I was not surprised by their actions because I have always viewed NATO, for which we spend hundreds of billions of dollars a year to protect these same countries, as a one-way street. We protect them, but they will do nothing for us, especially when we need it”

Claims about Iran’s military

Trump claimed that Iran’s military capacity had been severely weakened, stating:

“Fortunately, we have destroyed Iran’s military. Their navy is gone, their air force is gone, their air defenses and radars are gone. Perhaps most importantly, their leaders at almost every level are gone and can no longer threaten us, our allies in the Middle East, or the world”

“We don’t need anyone’s help”

Emphasizing US military power, Trump concluded:

“In fact, we never did. The same goes for Japan, Australia, or South Korea. As the President of the most powerful country in the world, I am saying this — we don’t need anyone’s help”
