Trump Warns Iran as He Speaks in Iowa: “Another Fleet Is Moving Forward”

US President Donald Trump reiterated claims of military action against Iran during a speech in Iowa, saying a new naval force is heading toward the region. Trump also urged voters to back Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections.

US President Donald Trump delivered a wide-ranging speech in Iowa, focusing on escalating tensions with Iran and the political stakes of the upcoming US midterm elections. While highlighting alleged military steps taken against Tehran, Trump warned that an additional naval force is now moving toward Iran, while calling on supporters to secure Republican victories in Congress.

Military warning directed at Iran

Addressing foreign policy, Trump repeated claims about past military action targeting Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Referring to what he described as “Operation Midnight Hammer”, Trump said Iran’s nuclear capacity had been destroyed in June, arguing the operation was long overdue.

Trump went on to signal new military movement in the region, stating that “another powerful fleet” is now heading toward Iran. He said he hoped force would not be necessary, adding, “I hope they make a deal.” Trump also criticized Tehran for failing to reach an agreement earlier, claiming the situation could have unfolded very differently.

Midterm elections take center stage

Turning to domestic politics, Trump emphasized the importance of the upcoming midterm elections, warning of serious consequences if Republicans fail to retain control of Congress. “We must win the midterms,” Trump told supporters, arguing that losing them would put many of his agenda items at risk.

Trump also warned that if Democrats regain control of the House of Representatives, impeachment efforts against him would resume. He described his Iowa visit as the launch of the Republican midterm campaign, urging voters to mobilize nationwide.

Crowd reaction fuels political speculation

During the speech, Trump asked the crowd whether he should consider running for president for a fourth time, prompting loud applause from attendees. Earlier in the day, Trump made an unscheduled stop at a roadside restaurant in Iowa, where he again highlighted the importance of the midterm elections and warned of political retaliation should Democrats gain ground.
