Turkish medical centre in Somali capital attacked by gunmen previous night. One guard is killed.

Mogadishu / NationalTurk – Unidentified gunmen have attacked overnight a Turkish Aid hospital in the Somalian capital Mogadishu, causing damages and casualties of the medical staffs and the building of the central, according to eyewitnesses said on Monday.

At least one of the guards of the centre was confirmed shot dead in the attack, while others were wounded slightly. The armed assailants were reportedly to have escaped from the area.

Eyewitnesses and local residents told says that at least three unknown armed gunmen hurled in late last night hand grenades into the aid medical centre of Turkey in Wadajir district of Banadir region, where used to treat the drought and famine displaced families in the IDP camps in Mogadishu by a Turkish aid agency.

Hundreds of Somali government security forces have reached at the scene and began search operations and investigations to hunt down the attackers of the Turkish medical centre in Mogadishu. No one was arrested so far for the incident. Al Shabab militants are suspected for the attack. Al Shabab is the operating arm of El Kaide in Africa, creating havoc in Somalia and Kenya.
