Domestic violence accusation against Zverev

Domestic Violence: Tennis star Zverev apparently reported by ex-girlfriend

His former girlfriend probably reported him: Alexander Zverev faces consequences for allegedly committed domestic violence.

He is one of Germany’s best tennis players and won gold at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Now Alexander Zverev is threatened with trouble with the judiciary. A spokeswoman for the Berlin criminal courts confirmed to broadcaster RTL that the public prosecutor’s office had applied for a penal order to be issued against the 26-year-old.

The reason: alleged assault against his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea. The tennis star has a daughter with the model. She is now demanding almost half a million euros from Zverev.

According to the report, the Olympic champion is not ready to comment. He can appeal the penalty order. He has two weeks for that. Until then, the presumption of innocence applies.

Not the first case of domestic violence at Zverev

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev is not confronted with allegations of domestic violence for the first time. His ex-girlfriend Olga Sharipova said in November 2020 that Zverev became violent towards her in 2019 during the ATP Masters 1000 event in China. The tennis pro rejected the allegations.

The incidents had been reviewed by an independent investigative agency. In addition to Zverev and Sharipova, family members and other tennis players were also interviewed. The ATP came to the conclusion through the investigation report that no rules were broken. The investigation has ended.
