Messaging platform WhatsApp has announced the launch of a new feature that allows users to edit their messages within 15 minutes.

Meta, owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, announced that users will be able to edit messages they send via WhatsApp within 15 minutes.
In a statement regarding the new feature from Meta, it was stated that a new feature has been introduced that can give WhatsApp users more control over their chats, such as correcting a simple typo and adding extra context to a message.
This process can be used within 15 minutes with the “edit” option by long pressing the message sent by the user.
Edited messages will be marked as “edited”, but the messaged contacts will not be able to see their edit history.
Meta announced that messages and edits will also be protected with end-to-end encryption.
The company announced that the feature is available worldwide and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
