Brazilian National Football side manager Dunga announces his 23 man squad for the FIFA 2010 World Cup held in South Africa.

The five time winners of the biggest competition in, international sports have named their 23 man squad which will be competing in the FIFA 2010 World Cup South Africa.

The biggest surprise by the Brazil manager, Dunga, former Brazilian World Cup winner in the 1994 World Cup held in the United States, was that Ronaldinho was left out of the squad.

The Two-time world player of the year, Ronaldinho and Adriano were both left out of the World Cup squad.

Another interesting choice by the manager of Italian and German descent is that rather then choosing an official squad of 30 players and then dropping to 23, Dunga has chosen his 23-man squad right away.

Dunga has been head coach of the Brazilian National Side since July 2006 with a very impressive record with the national team as he has won 45 games out of 63 games which he has managed.

Ronaldinho and Adriano, the former Inter Milan star will now only take part in the competition watched by billions around the world only if there is an injury in the squad.

A surprise selection by Dunga has been, former Manchester United and Besiktas attacking midfielder José Kleberson who is currently playing for Brazilian side Flamengo.

Bellow is the 23 man squad of the Brazilian National team which will compete in the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (AS Roma), Gomes (Tottenham Hotspur)

Defenders: Maicon (Inter Milan), Luisao (Benfica), Michel Bastos (Olympique Lyon), Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Thiago Silva (AC Milan), Gilberto (Cruzeiro), Lucio (Inter Milan), Juan (AS Roma).

  1. ronaldinho, pato, adriano, lucas, anderson, marcelo and diego are out of the squad. why? and who is that grafite? is he better than pato? or than adriano? it is obvious that brazil will not win the world cup this year. by the way where is nelson dida?

  2. I’m brazilian. As far as we are concerned here, this is the worse team ever in all history for Brazil. There are so many fantastic players as usual to call, but this Dunga likes to call players at the same level or below as he used to play when he was a player (envy, jealousy). Ronaldinho is personal, he humiliated Dunga by dribling him when he was a player in the most awesome way and he still hates him for that…
We brazilians are going to be cheering against our own team in World Cup 2010, cause we love the well played game, not only that, but playing the amazing way leaves us with more chance of winning. It’s about culture here, what this guy (Dunga) is doing is killing our culture and our way of playing the game. Each country should stick to their ways and their strenght. Winning with this horrible team means going backwards to everything us brazilians and the world love about Brazil team in world cups.
    About his results:
    1) Copa America is a low level cup, even so Brazil played nothing against weak teams and by luck won against all odds.
    2) Olympic Games was horrible, as Brazil usually is under his command, and the gold medal continues to be the only title missing for Brazil and the most important one because of that in our opinion.
    3) Confederations cup: Once again suffered in each game just like in Copa America, didn’t deserve to win jack, but for our sorrow they won against USA and didn’t face a single good adversary like Spain for instance…
So what is the big deal about winning such cups? have no clue, but it’s the excuse why this unexperienced coach (never coached anything) is still in command.
World Cup 2010 promises to be the worse display of football ever in the history of mankind in terms of Brazil. I pray to god for not letting this horrible team to win, cause there are more important things at stake, such as culture and fans love for the sport.
It’s a shame that corruption and political affairs affect each and every part of Brazil’s country. There is no explanation why this guy is coach but because he has the “right” connections… he is.

    Players missing:
    Geniuses(Obligation): Neymar(Santos) 18yrs old, Paulo Henrique Ganso (Santos) 21yrs old, Ronaldinho(Milan).
Olthers: Marcelo, Lucas, Maxwell, Pato, Anderson, Victor, Thiago Motta and many others…

  3. It was surprized to me when i didnt found Pato ,Mercelo nd Santos. Pato is so technical in brazilian attcking bt he wasnt nominated. Dunga should observe Pato’s recent matches(uefa chmp. League Ac millan v real madrid) nd other matches. Mercelo was now passing his best form in real madrid bt what happened! Defender Santos is another talent who showed his best in confedaration cup. So itz really depressful 4 our brazilian supporter.

  4. Thu May 13, JOHANNESBURG – The head of South African World Cup organizers has criticized Brazil coach Dunga for leaving Ronaldinho off Brazil’s roster, saying some coaches are “blinded” by a sense of power.
Danny Jordaan said Wednesday that Ronaldinho is a “soccer genius” who had talents “enjoyed by few in the game, both past and present.”
Ronaldinho will only play in South Africa if there are injuries to other players. Dunga selected the two-time FIFA player of the year as a backup and omitted him from his 23-man roster Tuesday.
Jordaan said it was it was “sad and unfortunate” that the tournament would suffer without Ronaldinho, and that someone of Dunga’s experience should have selected the AC Milan midfielder “as a matter of course.”

  5. As fair as i can recall i have being a Brazilian fun because of the samba football and one WHO has done that kind of football to the perfection is Ronaldinho thew he is not at the pick but is batter than kaka and Robinho. knowing that i cant change anything but just hope for the bast.

  6. I think this team is to defensive for my liking, more holding playes then attacking minede players, but I trust Dunga he knows what his doing. But the Brazilians want nothing less than the first price.

  7. I think without Ronaldinho and Andriano Brazil is not complete. And am not sure you will make it. Good luck anyway guys. Just prove u are the best national team on planet!U deserve it guys.K.mmapetla,botswana

  8. dunga is being unfair to sidelined Adriano and Ronadhino from 2010 world cup because the guys are impressive and this is gonna be their last chance to play at the world cup as they are becoming of age. we as the fans of Brazil we enjoy when this guys are in the team. the team is precariously positioned because ones is out there is no replacement, again Brazil will miss i think it will be high time for Dunga to bade us fair well. DUNGA is not considerate.
