Climate activists daub paint on private jet

Climate activists sprayed paint on a private jet on the holiday island of Sylt. They unfurled banners on the wings.

The “Last Generation” daubed orange paint on a private jet at Sylt Airport. To do this, they first cut open the airport fence with bolt cutters and then sprayed the plane with a prepared fire extinguisher, the activists write in a press release.

They also unfurled banners reading “Your luxuries = our drought” and “Your luxuries = our crop failures.” The action follows the announcement by the activists that they will primarily target the rich in the future. “The owners of private jets, limousines and super yachts will not voluntarily abandon them,” writes the “Last Generation”.

‘Last Generation’ activists denounce air travel

Millionaires and billionaires contribute disproportionately to the decline in our livelihoods. “A four-hour private flight emits as much CO2 as an average person causes in a year,” it said.

Neither the police nor Sylt Airport could be reached by phone for t-online. A police spokeswoman confirmed the operation to the German Press Agency. There are said to have been five people involved.
