Did Trump flush the documents down the toilet?

Photos are said to show Trump documents in the toilet

As US President, did Donald Trump flush important documents down the toilet? The recordings should now prove that.

Actually, official documents of the US President must be kept: Donald Trump, however, was known for tearing them up again and again during his tenure. In February, allegations broke that the former president even flushed some of the documents down a toilet. Regarding the allegations, Trump said at the time: “The fact that I flushed papers and documents down a White House toilet is categorically untrue.”

Now, however, photos have surfaced that are supposed to show just that: Two shots showing scraps of paper with handwritten notes in a toilet bowl. This was published by the American news site “Axios”. The recordings are said to have been leaked to New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman.

She reports on the toilet allegations in her book “Confidence Man”, which is due to be published in October – the details had already become public in February. Haberman is considered one of the best connoisseurs of Trump and his environment. During Trump’s tenure from 2017 to 2021, she repeatedly received sensational exclusive stories about the Republican.

A spokesman for Trump denied the allegations to Axios: “We know…there are enough people willing to fabricate stories like this to impress the media class – a media class that is willing to do anything to run as long as it’s against Trump,” said Taylor Budowich.

However, it is known that Trump is said to have destroyed documents: The US National Archives, which is responsible for storing documents from previous presidents, said around the beginning of February that after Trump’s departure from the White House in January 2021 they had been torn up and glued back together, but not either to have received repaired documents.

On Monday evening it became known that the Federal Police FBI had searched Trump’s property in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. Among other things, Trump is said to have taken documents to Mar-a-Lago that allegedly contained classified information on national security. Trump is also said to have brought 15 boxes full of government documents, memorabilia, gifts and letters from the White House to his home in Florida after his term in office. However, it is a legal requirement that all correspondence from the US President be archived and preserved.

Trump had recently flirted with running again in the 2024 presidential election. However, he has not yet officially announced his candidacy.
