Did Trump Have a Stroke?

U.S. President Donald Trump’s absence from public events has fueled renewed speculation about his health. While the White House says Trump is in “excellent health,” comments from a medical expert and social media posts have brought stroke claims back into the spotlight.

Questions over Donald Trump’s health have resurfaced in Washington after the U.S. president stayed out of public view for several days. Trump last delivered a public speech on May 22. Although he signed an executive order on artificial intelligence in the Oval Office on June 2, there was no press statement or public address. The White House has not directly responded to the latest speculation, but a recently released medical summary described Trump as fully fit to carry out his duties.

Health claims return to the agenda

Trump’s absence from public appearances has triggered fresh debate over his condition. The White House released a three-page medical summary last week, stating that the president is in “excellent health” and is fully capable of fulfilling his responsibilities.

Expert raises stroke theory

Dr. Bruise Davidson, a professor at Washington State University’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, told The Daily Beast podcast that Trump may have suffered a stroke during his second term.

Davidson pointed to earlier footage showing Trump walking in a way he described as unusual. He also said the president appeared to garble some words during speeches.

Social media posts fuel debate

The health speculation also spread on social media. Political commentator Brian Krassenstein shared a video suggesting Trump’s face appeared swollen. California Representative Ted Lieu also posted footage that appeared to show Trump nodding off while Marco Rubio was speaking at a cabinet meeting.

White House report says otherwise

The White House medical report presents a different picture. According to the summary, Trump has strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and overall physical function.

The report was based on an assessment by 22 specialists at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
