Uschi Wolters is dead. According to a “Bild” report, Dieter Wedel’s wife died just a few days after the director. She was 74 years old. The newspaper refers to the couple’s closest family circle.
Accordingly, Wedel, who died on July 13 at the age of 82 “after a long, serious illness”, and Wolters were still together in the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf – at times apparently even in the same room to be able to say goodbye to each other.

Doctors probably treated Wolters for a stomach tumor. She herself made sure that the news of her husband’s death reached the public through the lawyers. Wolters, the daughter of former Bremen Senator Hermann Wolters, died on July 26.
Wedel and Wolters have been married since 2014, but have known each other for many decades. She always stood by him and had defended him in 2018 against allegations of sexual harassment by several actresses.
Wedel could be “very quick-tempered”
The allegations were “absurd,” Wolters told the magazine “Bunte” at the time. And further: “I know that my husband is not one who abuses women or does violence to them.” She had also emphasized that her husband could become “very quick-tempered”. However, she never saw him be violent.
Before Wolters, Wedel was in a relationship with the actress Hannelore Elsner and with the actress Dominique Voland, who recently settled accounts with the deceased. Wedel has a son with each of the two women, plus four other children from other relationships.
