The inclusion of Jamie Carragher who has been called out of International retirement as the England team is having huge problems in defense due to injury.

Rio Ferdinand has already been on and off this season with back problems and John Terry, has also given a scare to Capello after an injury scare on Wednesday during training for the FA cup final against Portsmouth.

Also with Ledley King suffering from knee injury which marked the central defender out of the 2006 world cup constantly reoccurring, England have major worries in defense.

Without any doubt England’s defense is one of the best in the world with the likes of Rio Ferdinand and John Terry leading the way, but only if they are fit.

The midfield has always been a strong point of England with the main suspects anchored such as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard . But who do you take out for the 23 man team?

Joe Cole is arguably a certainty with the attacking midfielder not getting back to his glory days after returning from a long spell off due to injury.

Then we have the right wing. Aaron Lennon has been in, impeccable form this season for Tottenham, but with such an good record by Theo Walcott at international games, who can you choose?

The best striking pair up would arguably be Wayne Rooney so long as he is not injured, and Jermain Defoe, but with the towering hight of Peter Crouch and the power and experience of Emile Heskey along with the explosive form of Darren Bent for Sunderland, it will not be easy what so ever.

  1. Why owen and walcott are not in the 23 squad? Why Capello didt select them? I wouldn”t support the ideological of capello n it will face a huge problem in their squad n i m not satisfied of Capello opinion.
