Transfer News – Real Madrid veteran Guti Hernandez is expected to arrive in Istanbul on Monday and sign the official papers which will make him an Eagle on Tuesday.

Guti who officially parted his way from Real Madrid during the weekend has been reported to have boarded a plane from Madrid to Istanbul at 16:00.

He is expected to land in Istanbul at around 20:00 local time with an army of Beşiktaş supporters to greet him at the airport, as was done to Ricardo Quaresma.

On Tuesday morning Guti is expected to go through a medical at the Maslak Acıbadem hospital and then sign the official papers that will make him a Beşiktaş footballer.

Guti is said to have agreed on a two year contract worth some €3 million and it was even rumored that if needed, Chairman Yıldırım Demirören will pay from his own pocket to pay the players wages.

The 33-year-old veteran who started from the youth steps of Real Madrid in 1986 and played his first professional game with the Galacticos in 1995 is expected to land at the Istanbul International Airport, Monday night.

A good-bye ceremony was organized on Sunday for Guti by Real Madrid where thousands of fans participated.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez who also attended the ceremony said “As president of Real Madrid, I want to thank a player like Guti for everything he has given to the club, where he has played for 24 years.

“He has defended the colours of this team, and showed loyalty and passion. Guti has been, and is, a different player with exceptional talent and will always be in the heart of Madrid fans.”

“I will never forget that when I took the presidency in 2000, Guti got a big offer from Milan, however, he chose to stay with us, wearing the shirt of Real Madrid.”

Images of Guti wearing Beşiktaş’s black and white stripped kit also emerged in several websites putting a smile on Beşiktaş fans faces.
