Flagship smartphones: Xiaomi shows three models of the new 12 series

The new flagship smartphones from Xiaomi come as 12, 12 Pro and 12X. The focus during development was on the camera systems and fast loading.

The smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has presented its new flagship series of smartphones: the 12, the 12 Pro and the 12X are three models that are scheduled to go on sale in Germany on March 29 in grey, purple and blue.

All three variants offer 5G and Amoled displays with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass Victus and Dolby Vision. The screens offer a 120 Hz refresh rate and a fingerprint sensor.

The entry is the Xiaomi 12X for 699.90 euros. It offers 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable storage, a Snapdragon 870 processor, a 32-megapixel front camera and a 6.3-inch display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The rear triple camera has a 50-megapixel main lens and a 13-megapixel wide-angle for up to 123 degrees and a macro lens. The 4,500mAh battery can be quickly charged with 67W via cable.

The Xiaomi 12 is available with 128 GB of storage for EUR 849.90 and with 256 GB for EUR 899.90. The difference with the 12X is the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and 50W wireless charging. Here and in the Pro model, the camera is equipped with extensive AI functions such as a focus for moving objects or a video night mode.

At the top of the range is the Xiaomi 12 Pro, which is available with 8 and 256 GB for 1,049.90 euros, the version with 12 and 256 GB costs 1,149.90 euros. In addition to the 12, it offers a larger 6.7-inch display with 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, four speakers with Dolby Atmos and fast charging of the 4,500 mAh battery with 120W. The triple camera has three 50-megapixel lenses: in addition to the main lens with a large Sony IMX707 sensor, there is a wide-angle and a zoom.
