Müslüm Gülhan : Italy enters the semifinals vs Germany with a certain disadvantage. Italy has played the quarterfinal vs England 2 days after Germany played its game. Furthermore Italy vs England game has been a tough game that went to extra-time. A 120 minute long battle where Italy literally tussled with England. They are exhausted and Germany had 2 more days for regenaration process which is an obvious advantage for the German side.
Müslüm Gülhan : Expect to see a better Italy at 2014 Worl Cup
Italy exceeded my expectations and are having a superb tournament in Euro 2012 this far. They are unexpectedly good and very resilient team. Italy’s game is not build upon a strategy where all balls are thrown to an one man.
They have an excellent leader in Pirlo and in-game responsibilities are being shared by 2-3 players. They have a couple of young and talented players who play good team football.
It’s a major success for Italy that they have advanced to Semifinal in Euro 2012, but I think we will see a better Italy, the ‘ real ‘ Italy at 2014 World Cup.
On the other hand there is this German team. By far the most consistent and physically fit team of Euro 2012. They are in great shape. They are clear favourites of Germany vs Italy game and they have got many assets and immense firepower coming from various players.
Their squad is deep enough so they can rest 3 important players in the quarterfinals and all the players replacing those are top-flight and first class-quality.
