Israel strikes southern Lebanon, targets Hezbollah positions

The Israel Defense Forces announced that weapons depots and launch sites belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon were targeted in a new strike. Footage of the attack was shared on social media.

Tensions in the Middle East escalated once again after the Israeli military confirmed carrying out strikes in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the operation targeted locations identified as Hezbollah infrastructure, including weapons depots and launch platforms.

Weapons depots and launch sites targeted

In a statement, the IDF said the strikes were aimed at Hezbollah facilities in southern Lebanon. The statement said Hezbollah was continuing efforts to rebuild what Israel described as “terror infrastructure” in the region in order to harm Israel.

Israeli officials also argued that Hezbollah’s activities in the area constituted a violation of agreements between Israel and Lebanon.

Israeli military signals continued operations

The IDF stressed that it would continue operations to remove threats against Israel and its citizens.

Amateur video footage said to show the strikes was later circulated on social media platforms.
